Osita Iheme was arrested on set in Kumasi on thursday. The young Nigerian actor was arrested by officers of the Ghana law enforcement agency who were accompanied by officials of Ghana Actors Guild(GAG) and the Film Producers Association of Ghana(FIPAG). News gathered by Kampus Kokonsa says that the talented Nigerian actor was acting in Ghana without necessary working permits and that was why he was arrested.
He has been released but gist has it that the movie production will be suspended for the mean time until Pawpaw’s documents are processed. This act comes up in line with FIPAG’s complaints about foreign artists and productions coming into the country to shoot movies without necessary documents.
Mr. Michael Kwaku Ola, the Public Relations Officer for FIPAG narrated that there is an agreement for movie industry players and foreign film makers who want to shoot a movie in Ghana must acquire official work permit from GAG and FIPAG.
